Review of I Don't Want to Be Born (1976) by Orlando D — 19 Apr 2012
Blame the Exorcist for so many ripoffs in the mid 70's from Italian shlock Beyond the Door, to blaxploitation with Abby and this goofy British horror, Devil Within Her. Before she became an 80's TV icon playing Alexis on Dynasty, Joan Collins was starring in a string of forgettable B movies like Empire of the Ants and this movie did her no huge favors. This storyline something out of a classic Saturday Night Live skit that would have featured Gilda Radner. Collins, a former exotic dancer-turns down the advances of a dwarf, the dwarf places a curse on her if she has a child it will be born as the Son of Satan. The only one who believes Collins is her sister-in-law, a nun(how convienant, played by acclaimed actress Eileen Atkins.).
There is so many problems with this film: It's boring, badly written and directed.
(too many scenes of people driving around London.) It ends badly for all-especially for the viewers.
