Review of I, Daniel Blake (2016) by Kathy H — 21 Aug 2017
Ken Loach is a treasure of British cinema and his latest film is a great addition to his outstanding canon. Set in Newcastle this moving film deals once again with the struggles of the working class. In this case we follow Daniel Blake, recovering from a heart attack and battling the bureaucracy to get his life back in order.
Beautifully written and acted this film aches with honesty and pathos. A great examination of the struggles of everyday humanity.
