I can only imagine was a very inspiring film. What makes a great film? Maybe to a professional film critic, that question may be complicated...to me, it's simple. 1) Did the movie capture my attention? 2)At any time did I see myself in the film or was able to put myself in the film in some way? 3) Did I walk away feeling satisfied? I would answer yes to all 3 questions. Considering most faith based movies don't really draw the best actors (typically because cast members aren't paid, and if they do, usually not very much). However, the acting was quite good.

The story is the true story of Bart Millard, the lead singer of the contemporary Christian bad, Mercy Me. It begins with a young Bart mowing a yard trying to get enough money to purchase some cassette tapes. There's a continuing theme throughout the movie, with Bart's ongoing conflict with his dad, which ultimately leads to the climax of the movie. The movie shows Bart growing up, and how he developed into a musicIan and the struggles he went through. If you are a person of faith, you realize that obviously God intended Bart to write this song all along, and become the person he is today. This song changed lives, and the movie will do the same. If youre a secular person, you can still gain some enjoyment from the movie as it is a testament to commitment, and not giving up, and following your dreams. All in all, I give it 5 stars. I would definitely watch it again. I'll buy it when it's available, it's very inspirational and uplifting.

I've read some other reviews, and I wonder if they were watching the same movie I did. Some people have their own agenda, and dislike the movie because of its Christian theme and subject matter. After all, Hollywood hates anything Christian or really anything that has to do with God. They promote sin as good, and God as bad. So, watch the movie and draw your own conclusions. You'll definitely be entertained for 110 minutes, even if you miss the deeper meaning of the film.
