Another pointless and awfully predictable John Travolta direct-to-DVD delivery, I Am Wrath is a mediocre, shallow and clichéd revenge action-thriller. With a concept and a story that are far from being original, but having enough potential to keep the viewers at least intrigued, this movie stumbles badly due to poor screenwriting and unconvincing leading actor. Even the relatively passable action sequences and scenes of violence cannot save I Am Wrath from being a generic cliché suitable only for local cable TV broadcasting.

Stanely Hill (John Travolta) is a car factory manager whose wife (an environmental inspector) gets killed during a robbery. Devastated by his loss, Stanley manages to get himself together and to identify one of the gang members who participated in the killing of his wife. Unfortunately the local corrupted local police does nothing and parks the investigation under the pile of dozen unresolved cases. Furious and helpless, he refuses to accept this so he decided to go back to his past of a Black-Ops agent. He teams up with his old partner Dennis (Christopher Meloni)) in order to find the killers of his wife and to get his revenge.

Described like this, the director Chuck Russell's delivery has nothing special to offer when it comes to a storyline. This is perfectly fine as similar plots have been produces in thousands. This is where the skills of the screenwriters and the directors start to matter in order to make from a clichéd movie an entertaining one. Unfortunately, Russell fails to impress as I Am Wrath seems sharpless and completely unconvincing. The latter is more to be attributed to the flat performance of John Travolta whose performance and latest movie starring are close to bringing him to the level of the late Bruce Willis or Nicholas Cage.

In conclusion, I Am Wrath is definitely not worthy being rented, seen on demand or any other type of spending money on it. If you happen to see it shown on a TV channel and you are looking for something to just pass the time, then you could potentially see it.
