Too long and with too many twists, the screenplay for "I Am Mother" was on the 2016 Black List and constantly alludes to Kubrick, Cameron, Scott senior but as an Alex Garland or a Duncan Jones, ie it is that low-budget sci-fi thematically and dramatically rich only if AI and cloning are not considered shallow issues, because otherwise, if one looks for the "science fiction of the highest systems" on mankind in comparison to a more or less nefarious cosmic destiny, better let it go.
