A long time ago, I used to go see Tilda Swinton movies in the theatres...Orlando, Wittgenstein. And then I just started buying them sight unseen because everything she is in I love. But this I Am Love, I want to see in the theatre, probably 13 times.

August 24, 2010. Earlier, I checked the movie listings and discovered this was playing. I bolted downtown as soon as I could and caught the first showing of the day, 4:20PM. I definitely felt the thrill of anticipation as the movie began, post titles, awaiting the first sight of Tilda. This is not a film that you would want to go to with anyone like a family member or a client as there are graphic sex scenes. In which, Tilda showed all of herself ... her "flaws" that might otherwise be covered over with makeup. This made me love her even more. Seeing that she is not perfect, like everyone else. And I can think of a lover who hid something from me. And I wished that I insisted to see and kiss and love for because of that, I also held back.

I do not know if you have to be a devoted Tilda fan like myself to enjoy this genius masterpiece of art. All I can say, without giving away too much, is that afterwards I was beaming and felt feminine and wealthy and smooth. I was gliding in an awakened state and literally unafraid to smile broadly in public and even call out loud, OMG and Wow and Tilda! Yes, I feel as if I am in love. Incredible. I would not call this a "tragic love story." Yes there is pain and tragedy but that is love and its consquences, and I believe love is worth that risk.

I hope this wins an award for best lighting.
