Review of I Am Love (2010) by Renata D — 23 Sep 2010
A sumptuous film, beautifully shot and powerfully acted. Although not one for everyone, I Am Love is a feast for the senses, with stunning scenes of Italy's bucolic splendour, a heady score, beautiful people dotted here and there and the intertwining of food, art and music through the central moments of the slow-burning story of love, passion and betrayal.
If for no other reason, see this film for Tilda Swinton's magnificent portrayal of a dignified and elegant woman's gradual discovery of herself - a performance that soars on high and sets apart the luminous Ms Swinton as the regal first lady of cinema.
