The food preparation bits of the movie are a delight to watch, but the dinnertime conversations are mostly draggy. I wish I could call this movie "Tampopo" meets "Damage", but it's really not worthy of comparison with either of those, and ends up being a flawed tale that should remain forgotten in some dark cavern forever, as depicted, good acting & manipulatively good music notwithstanding.
