Review of I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932) by Pete B — 29 Apr 2009
This is a great film and oddly enough most have not seen it. Everyone has seen Casablanca, Wizard of Oz and the countless other great classic films I believe this should be listed with those greats. To this day I've never forgotten this films harsh look at how the legal system can fail and eventualy drive an innocent man to become a criminal that this film depicts.
The end of this film is chilling with its memorable dialouge then sudden final fade out. The first time I saw this film I was clenching my teeth with rage at how much society had failed to help not hinder the lead actors search for justice and fair treatment.
This would be a great film to get people into bw classic film since its so fast paced and still very relevent to issues in current soceity.
