Review of I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932) by Adrian B — 25 Nov 2010
Pretty good. The real problem here is the conviluted setup involving the first World War. This is honestly not necessary because it doesn't have much of an effect on the rest of the film, yet it takes up a good portion of the opening storyline.
I don't like the last third of the movie too much, however. It becomes extremely predictable once the main character becomes a successful civil engineer. You can see the problem with his girlfriend coming miles away, as well as how he's going to get screwed over by the correctional system, and what he has to do in order to get out of the situation.
All in all, it's a good film, but not as good as I've been told.
