Review of Hustlers (2014) by Nicholas H — 14 Jul 2013
Pawn Shop Chronicles is exactly what the title says it is: it chronicles several stories that spawn from the activity of a pawn shop.
I didn't much care for the first story (which revolves around racist rednecks who don't quite understand their racism since they like whom they allegedly don't like), so I was happy when the second segment began. Matt Dillon as a man on a mission to find out how his first wife's wedding ring ends up in the shop was, at the very least, interesting. That is, until it devolved into torture porn. The third tale features Brendan Fraser as an unintentionally racist Elvis impersonator (license plate: KKKING).
At any rate, this is awful. Much worse than I expected it to be. Bad acting, bad writing, and it's too long as well.
