Review of Hustle & Flow (2005) by Pavan R — 23 Jul 2008
I've been wanting to catch this movie for a long time but never got the chance until it finally appeared on Sky recently. Thankfully it didn't disappoint. Howard plays DJay, a complex character - a lowlife pimp and small-time drug dealer sure but he clearly has a big heart and when he gets his shot, nothing is going to get in his way.
If you're into hip-hop there are some great songs here and the story is uplifting, despite the inevitable pitfalls DJay stumbles into. In my opinion Terrence Howard and Anthony Anderson have never been better.
