Review of Husk (2011) by James C — 07 Apr 2011
Although the approach to this horror is the same as most there are a few subtle differences making it quite enjoyable.
After a crow flie into their car forcing them to crash 5 young friends find themselves drawn into the cornfields where the scarecrows seem to come to life & attack them. Rather than staying dead they seem to become possessed by the spirit of the scarecrows & the target the remaining friends.
One of the friends experiences visions of the familiy who used to live in the house where they are currently trapped giving an insight into why it is all happening.
The acting is barely passable but the attack sequences are well delivered & there is a certain menace to both the scarecrows & the zombified youths.
It pretty much goes by the numbers except for the order in which the victims are taken.
On the whole a pretty decent 80 minutes.
