Review of Hush (2016) by Tim M — 24 Oct 2018
I watched this movie due to the positive reviews it was receiving and honestly I don't believe it lived up to the hype. The concept is interesting but I feel like being deaf in that situation would have been more if a crutch than it actually was in the movie.
Also, the killer loses his mask 20 minutes in to the movie, which is sort of a letdown because in thrillers/slashers like these, once a killer loses their mask, a lot of mystery and intrigue and suspense of the unknown goes away.
After that, the movie just turns in to "a guy" trying to kill the protagonist. Overall, the movie executes what it sets out to do and there are some tense scenes; but it never really breaks new enough ground to warrant the praise it seems to be receiving.
