Review of Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) by Adrian S — 09 Oct 2016
LOVE LOVE LOVE this quirky and thoroughly endearing road trip (or to be exact, jungle trip) of sorts. Sure, the bare bones of the plot sound like "been there, done that", but what lifts this grumpy-old-man-bonds-with-rebel-teen flick are the eccentricities, generous offbeat humour and keenly-observed characterisations.
Lately, the New Zealand film industry is on a winning streak with a series of rock-solid great films, the vampire mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows and the black comedy thriller Housebound. Can't wait for more from the Land of Peter Jackson!
