Review of Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) by Nico S — 19 Sep 2016
Again Waititi brings us the funniest movie of the year -- compared to What We Do In The Shadows, it's a lot more heartfelt and heartwarming. Each of the characters has their own set of flaws, throughput their journey they learn to cooperate and get closer, and in the end those flaws are less apparent.
The movie has a lot of charm ands wit in 85% of the film, the other 15% is the heartfelt stuff. Ther performances are amazing, I don't think Neill has been this good in a while, and this new kid, Julian Dennison, was hysterical.
Can't wait to see what Waititi does next.
