Kauffman and Gondry's first film before the outstanding Eternal Sunshine is some what of a mixed affair. This is movie that allows us to see glimpses of genius but never consistant brilliance. However, this is still an enjoyable and interesting film, it just didn't have the focus that Eternal Sunshine would eventually show.
