Review of Human Nature (2001) by Nathan P — 08 Mar 2008
This film stays pretty much in line with the other Kaufman movies I've seen. It has a message that is usually up for interpretation. The message I received from this story was that what seems to be right, or a good pairing, may not be.
Even if it is, however, humans will probably fuck it up. While I enjoy Kaufman's writing and films, this one fails to stand out as much. There are many more obvious comedic moments, but don't think it was over-the-top enough to stand out as "another weird Kaufman film," instead we just end up w/a mediocre representation of what Kaufman has said before, and better.
