Review of Hulk (2003) by Matthew K — 04 Aug 2012
While The Incredible Hulk had action galore, this one chooses to be a character study. A fine one, at that, though the Hulk looks very fake here. Despite this, the animators definitely outdid themselves with the expressiveness of the animated character's eyes.
The action is a bit underwhelming as well, but that's not where this movie shines. It's the complexity of the characters and the conflicts between them that makes this film interesting. I wish that the follow-up film had focused more on the characters than on the action, though I did enjoy that one as well.
