Review of Howl (2010) by David K — 28 Jun 2010
Fine performances by Franco, Hamm, Daniels, and Parker, but Howl is really an attempt at a filmic treatment of Ginsburg's poem, and the attempt just isn't all that successful. Long-ish sections of the poem are read while animated sequences appear on screen which ultimately seem a bit silly.
I'm not sure it's really possible to turn a poem into a film.
