I don't about you guys, but it would be the greatest thing ever to own a dragon as a pet for a few reasons. For one they will help get around to different places, the second is that they could easily be trained, and lastly if your neighbor's dog will not shut up at 2am then just say "Draconis" & your pet will roast that mutt into barbeque. So DreamWorks has decided to tackle an animated movie about dragons & Vikings and I do have to say that I guess there a few more brilliant ideas left in Hollywood after all. Normally I would get more into detail about this, however it's been a really busy week for me and I'm just going to make this brief.

The movie gets mostly by with the 3D in it. I mean this is how 3D should be used in an animated film. The flight sequences alone are absolutely amazing, because it made you believe that you were actually flying or falling with these characters. Gerard Butler and Craig Ferguson do a great job with the voice acting in here. The teenage Vikings, however, were good but I did not feel that they were memorable at all; except for Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera. But my favorite were the dragons because this movie was smart enough to get these creatures to act like animals and have them talk at all. My complaint with this is that I am getting tired of the same old theme where the underdog becomes the hero because I feel it's just played out already. I was also surprised with the ending what happens to the main character, which is something that you never see in a cartoon movie. Overall, this is an absolute stunning experience which will take your breath away if you happen to watch this in 3D through these flying scenes. This film is a solid four stars all the way.
