Review of How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008) by Charlotta L — 14 Jul 2010
I got this the Devil Wears Prada feeling about it when I watched it. Only the lead characters are male, so a gender-reverse?
Simon Pegg plays this pathetic writer that struggles at his new job at an exclusive magazine in New York.
The plot is...hmm..not great, not that original. It's pretty bland.
The acting is also rather bland except Jeff Bridges, he was great. Kirsten Dunst and Simon Pegg as lead characters, well they lack the chemistry that should be there. Megan Fox seemed to just be herself as the full-of-herself and rather pathetic starlet.
The name was what drew me in, perhaps the book is better? It could have been so much better but I just felt that the whole cast lacked chemestry and kind of butchered the plot at the same time. Sad really.
