Review of How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008) by James W — 02 Oct 2013
I seem to be in the minority here, but I really enjoy "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People", although I'll be the first to admit that it pales next to some of Simon Pegg's other work.
There's an interesting cast that includes Pegg, Kirsten Dunst and Jeff Bridges, along with small roles to Miriam Margoyles, Chris O'Dowd, Katherine Parkinson and Thandie Newton. Even Megan Fox is bearable, although her acting has never really been my cup of tea (though I understand that's not the reason studios continue to hire her).
It's quite a strong satire, I felt, on the celebrity gossip industry, seen through the eyes of the irreverent Sidney Young, and it ends up as a very funny film.
