Review of How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008) by Kim E — 13 Aug 2009
This film gives me renewed reasoning in my total hatred of Kirsten Dunst. God she's a horrible actress! The first hour of "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" is boring and unimaginative, but picks up speed later on.
My biggest gripe about this film is that in total the city of "Port Huron" Michigan is mentioned four times. Three of those times is by the character whom supposedly was born and raised there, Dunst herself.
Dont you think when mentioning a home town (that often) in a film that they'd at least PRONOUNCE it correctly??? She kept saying: /Port Hure-RUN/, which is like nails on chalkboard to my ears because anyone who lives or has lived in Michigan knows it's pronounced /Port Hure-ON/ "on" as in the opposite of "off" which is Kirsten's role in this fill, just OFF! I can't appreciate a film that does not even do it's homework!! This movie is totally predictable (which I hate) and I would not recommend this to anyone.
