Review of How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008) by Roshan C — 07 May 2011
Adapting Toby Young's expansive book wasn't a bad idea, but this British film adaptation is full of typical brash Americanism. The film's obsessive American cast from Kirsten Dunst to Jeff Bridges combine awfully vulgar humour with pure scrappiness.
As usual, Simon Pegg's terrific charm and wit still shines and makes this a just watchable rom-com, but ultimately HTLFAP lacks depth.
