Review of Housesitter (1992) by Dawdlingpoet — 28 Nov 2021
This film made me cringe at times. The plot seemed pretty thin and the main character wasn't very likeable - I'd hoped it'd be one of Steve Martin's better ones but seeing its from 1992, I suppose it was a little late for that.
Goldie Hawn saying certain things made my eyes roll and won't have done much for feminism, I imagine. Its certainly cheesy and a bit sentimental maybe. I didn't laugh much, although there were some marginally amusing moments but mostly it was a pretty plain watch.
I guess it's a bit madcap but its not the sort of film I'm likely to remember for long at all. I wouldn't recommend it, no.
