100% Enjoyable movie... Yes, it's an empty film, it has no "deep levels of emotion"... But "House of Wax" is a slasher movie, and quite a good one in my opinion. I have the feeling that the fame of this movie of "Yeah, that's the one in which Paris Hilton dies" is a good way to make the film famous, but also makes the people have prejudices about this movie.

I thought it was impressively entertaining, with a good and not so boring introduction of characters, with good make-up and gore effects, and memorable death scenes. The movie doesn't put many limits to brutality, and it has some scenes that may make you turn your head.

.. But the environment of the village, the house of wax burning, the story of the murderers, the tension, the persecutions... Everything is quite well made despite the inconvenients of the genre.
