Review of House of Wax (1953) by Mike H — 31 Mar 2009
A weak remake. More obvious than the original, and with cheaper entertainment. It is likewise a little less interesting having been set in the horse-and-buggy era, while the original was set in the present during Prohibition; pieces of that culture were put into the story.
Most of the acting was atrocious, but of course Vincent Price rescued the film as well as he could.
