I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the book was way better than the movie. This was a ridiculous story! I could see an attempt at purpose & meaning, but these people were all crazy! The American characters were not well developed.
I've got 6 words: "Nine-one-one" and "Get a grip"! If the characters would have just called 9-1-1 most things would have been fine. Or, heck, if she just would have gotten her butt out of bed and read her mail, she would have been fine, too! This could have been a beautifully tragic story, but Hollywood messed it up!
