Review of House of Sand and Fog (2003) by John A — 10 Oct 2008

Powerful and sad movie.

First off I would compare this in a way to requiem for a dream witch was superiour but nevertheless this movie was great a must see once in your life.

So story goes like this:A woman(connelly) loses her home to bad demogracy.while a man(kingsley) wants to start a new life with is family and actually buys the house the woman just lost.Doing everything in her power the woman does everything to get her home back while the man does everything to keep it,to certain point that both start to lose the reason why they need it and the first place while decending into a path of madness.

So like I said this movie is terriffic,acting is great,characters are amazing,story could be better but the storytelling and characters make up for it and trust me by the end youll be surprised how much people,can fall.having said that you should know that the ending doent dissapoint it is powerful and suprising,so much that I put one more star to my rating for that.

But this movie is not for everyone.Sure its not as graphic as requiem but it is still a very sad and depressing film so be aware.
