This film is beautiful to look at scene after scene and is a superior love story to anything else I have ever watched. The first half hour ensured I would sit through to the end.
Ziyi Zhang is a star like none we have in the West. I don't know if she can do any other genre of film but when you're this good maybe you don't have to, ever. I hate sub-titles, but the spat of similar movies that came out around this time are effortless. Thoroughly deserved it's oscars!
