Review of House of Dark Shadows (1970) by Jesse R — 28 Feb 2012
It's a well produced & stylish movie. It's a far more interesting variation of the vampire in the modern 70's world tale than what we have in the current present with glittery vampires running around like disco balls in daylight.
The characterization of the vampire Barnabas Collins is layered & in some ways tragic. Even though there is a spectacular bloodfest in this movie due to his arrival in the story, you can not help but feel a certain sadness for the lot the character has been forced to endure.
Definitely worth checking out.
