Review of House of D (2004) by Miranda G — 27 Feb 2010
8.2/10- As this being David Duchovny's bigscreen directorial debut, I was impressed. I can't understand why the critics gave this one such an abysmal rating. I don't see it. This movie was about finding yourself even through life's toughest adversity.
This is a coming-of-age tale set in 1970's New York that follows a 13 year old boy (Yelchin) as he learns some hard lessons about life. It is an emotionally gripping movie that tears at your heart while uplifting your soul, including some moments that'll have you laughing outloud.
Anton Yelchin did such a wonderful job in this film, as did Erykah Badu.
