Review of House of 1000 Corpses (2003) by Mindaugas M — 07 Jan 2010
Welcome to the Rob Zombie's bizarre psychorama! Really, the plot in this movie is not essential. Also, you won't find any moral advice, philosophical idea or fight of good vs evil here. It's just all evil...
It's rather a lengthy collection of freaky music videos, connected by a deliberately cliché horror movie plot, than a movie. A group of youngsters are traveling through Texas, get their car broken in a middle of nowhere and then eventually end up at the house of the freaky maniac family, where terror, torture and death awaits them. And let me tell you - all of those things were never before shown in such a jolly manner... Yes, if you think that those things cannot be fun - then this is definitely not a movie for you. Otherwise, - you might give a chance to this sick and perverted cinematographical debut of Rob Zombie.
