Review of House of 1000 Corpses (2003) by Corey B — 05 Jan 2012

I gave this a re-watch recently and have to kinda reign in my feelings a bit, as it's still a fun movie for me, it's not as good as I would have initially thought. There are some bits that I completely adore, but there are other bits that I still find wince-inducing.

I would still say that I love the film in spite of the flaws it has, because it's very obviously Zombie's technicolor tribute to all the things he loves, and for better or worse the influences are worn on his sleeve for all to see.

Tentatively recommended, if you know what you're in for.
