Review of House of 1000 Corpses (2003) by John S — 28 Sep 2010
Rob Zombie has all the right ideas, but misses the mark for the most part. It's a messy little picture that is an overflowing cauldron of classic horror homages and 1970s-like exploitation that makes Zombie look like nothing more than a horror fanboy.
Despite it's flaws however, it doesn't skimp on gore and contains a few thrills. Nowhere near essential, but enjoyable overall.
