Zombie's love of the genre is clear, for this is meticulously directed 70s-style gore-fest. Whether intended as homage or pastiche, this is as delightfully trashy as any film made in that decade. My only complaint is that the family, in particular the character of Baby, is more annoying than frightening - I want to slap her round the face every time she opens her mouth!
