Review of House of 1000 Corpses (2003) by Aaron M — 28 Jan 2015
While the story itself is convoluted and clearly there just to give the people involved a way to die, I still find the tension great in some parts. Its a great call back to the 80's slasher, in fact reminding me a lot of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The hectic scene of the woman tied to a chair screaming while the killers laugh at her has always been the most confusing and yet disturbing scene I've ever seen. House is alike watching a whole movie like that scene. I also have to give it big props for very memorable characters.
The Firefly clan are some of the most vicious, insane killer's I've ever seen, Otis by far being the most insane of the bunch. I found myself getting caught up in the whirlwind of the story, feeling all the terror the victims felt as their fates became clear. While this movie is certainly not for most, I would definately recommend it to a fan of something like T.C.M.
