Painfully unnerving and brutally sadistic, House of 1,000 Corpses is an original, terrifying entry from musician-turned-writer director Rob Zombie that not only borrows from other horror movies, but honors them with sharp gore effects, atmospheric cinematography and masterfully scary performances from Bill Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie.
