Review of House at the End of the Street (2012) by Colo G — 19 Jan 2013
Well, whattaya know...a modern horror film that actually surprised me! I watched this movie on a date where I think the intention was actually to only watch a few minutes before starting to make out BUT we actually finished the movie first!
Is this a masterpiece? Hell no: the dialogue and acting is occasionally wretched, the direction is often forced, the film is overly treated with colors for "mood", and a fair amount of cliches run rampant.
But I do give it major props for a twist that I absolutely didn't see coming, Jennifer Lawrence in fine form, and a handful of really genuine scares.
Definitely a fun mixed bag worth putting off the makeout session for.
