I'm just doing everything I can to keep my baby alive.

Nolan Hayes rushes his wife, Abigail, to the hospital when she starts having complications with the birth of their daughter. They arrive at the New Orleans hospital just as hurricane Katrina erupts and the levee breaks flooding the streets and causing chaos. Unfortunately, Abigail dies during birth but their daughter is thankfully saved. During the hurricane, the hospital is evacuated, the generator dies, and the only way Nolan's daughter can stay alive is if he manually cranks a respirator every three minutes. When resources become limited, looters arrive putting him and his child at risk. Can Nolan keep his daughter alive without sleep, resources, or power?

"What's your mom been feeding you, charcoal?".

Eric Heisserer, who is credited with writing Final Destination 5, A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010), and The Thing (2011), delivers Hours in his directorial debut. The storyline for this picture was very interesting and thought-out. The pace was perfect and the acting was better than I anticipated. The cast includes Paul Walker, Genesis Rodriguez, Shane Jacobsen, and Nancy Nave.

"So the cops are gone and all of the sudden you want to shoot everybody?".

"Well...yeah...".

I had remembered seeing the previews for this on IMDB some time ago so we decided to give it a shot when I found it on Netflix. This was actually better than I anticipated and Walker played his role fairly well. His acting, as always, can definitely be stiff at times, but it kind of worked for this character since he was blindsided with so much drama. Overall, this may be better than you anticipate and worth a viewing.

"I don't want the baby now. I want you back.".

Grade: B.
