Review of Hour of the Wolf (1968) by Anthony C — 08 Dec 2007
Somehow of all the Bergman films I've seen and loved, this seems to keep getting referred to as "my favorite" or "one of my favorites". Great that in all of his psychological explorations he decided to make specifically a horror.
To say that it's well done is to almost be insulting. Some Bergman films are more realized than others, but almost to a film they're well done, his name synonymous with quality, depth, classicism.
Insecurity, depravity, isolation, sexuality, violence, madness. Wow. And there is one scene in this movie regarding the doll house and the singing performance that HAS to be seen. How did they do it?
