Review of Hour of the Wolf (1968) by Sergio M — 22 Apr 2009
I wasn't very convinced at the beginning, "just another beautiful bergman movie", I thought, but the second part of the film is just amazing! heavily influenced by surrealism, I specially like everything related to the nightmarish castle and the black-tie entourage that inhabits it.
the quality of the black and white is just extraordinary, as usual. sometimes the shadows are so black that they look like charcoal. it´s almost as if your fingers would get dirty if you were to touch the screen.
