Such a stupid film.

Adam Sandler's involvement alone was enough to make me extremely pessimistic about this film's quality. Director Genndy Tartakovsky's involvement, however, caught my interest. This being the feature film debut of the original "Clone Wars" and "Samurai Jack" director, it had quite a bit of potential in my mind. Unfortunately, Sandler's grimy hand prints were visible all over this thing.

While the plot is admittedly silly -- a big, eclectic group of classic monsters get together at a hotel while Dracula has fatherhood problems -- it had the potential to be quite fun. What we got, though, was Sandler and Company's usual bathroom humor and disingenuous attempts at sentimentality.

With only two laugh-inducing moments that I can think of, this one won't provide much enjoyment for the adults unless they simply enjoy guessing the celebrity voices (spoiler alert: it's all of Sandler's usual cohorts plus Cee Lo Green). The kids, however, will probably enjoy the cooky characters, bright colors, and sophomoric humor.
