Hotel Transylvania at its core is a animated movie who thinks its a cartoon and tries so hard to be a cartoon that it falls flat on its face. I didn't find this film funny at all. The animation tries so hard to be cartoony that it almost feels hard to look at, the characters are all one-dimensional with no traits to make them interesting.

The best thing I can say about it its that SONY PICTURES ANIMATION Made worst films but then you can make anything look good compared to these atrocities: Norm of the north, The Emoji Movie, Cars 2, Foodfight, ect.
