Review of Hotel Rwanda (2004) by Danny O — 03 Feb 2015
Hotel Rwanda is an extremely intense and very well constructed drama. We follow the journey of a man who wants to get his family out of a terrible genocide while also providing a place of refuge for the targeted The acting is quite good, and the story is extremely engrossing.
It effectively gets the message of the film across without being in your face or disgusting about it. The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat, and though simple, is remarkably well made. It isn't for everyone, and it certainly has little to no rewatchability, but it is an effective and powerful retelling of horrific events.
Hotel Rwanda gets 4/5 stars (B+).
