Unlike with the first Hot Shots!, I found myself laughing consistently in this one as well as enjoying the action.

Hot Shots! Part Deux was just awesome. The action was awesome and never became insuffiecent, even when it became spoof action, and thats one reason that it's so much better than the first Hot Shots!

The second thing is the fact that the jokes were consistently funny and really clever at times. The best one was surely when Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen pass each other on the boats like in Platoon and Apocalypse Now.

Also, considering the cameos given to Martin Sheen and Rowan Atkinson, Hot Shots! Part Deux has a good cast lined up, even with Richard Crenna from the Rambo Series and Ryan Stiles from the later sitcom with Charlie Sheen Two and a Half Men.

The best part is that with Charlie Sheen decked out like John Rambo and never being anything but badass with the same amount of bullets fired, he provided enough laughs and action to make the film amazing. I think the problem was that in Hot Shots!, his character was a parody of that asshole Tom Cruise played in Top Gun so it was set up to fail, but following in the steps of Sylvester Stallone this time round, he was set up to win. And as always, Charlie Sheen was Winning.

Hot Shots! Part Deux is a massive improvement over the original and one of the way better spoof films that never got too ridiculous but was rather consistently funny.
