Review of Hot Fuzz (2007) by Coop L — 05 Jan 2015
Ok ....no. This shit was advertisement trickery, and a huge huge letdown. Ok it starts off well enough as a promising comedy about a supercop and no action, well enough there should be action anytime now, but tragically in the second act the movie has become a meandering slasher, with Shawn of the Deadeaque horrorgore, then, finally in the third act it turns into the long awaited action movie we were all hoping to see.
Guns blazing, knives thrown, friut flying. But the movie then again seems to do the unimaginable and instead of paying the audience off with retribution for the heinous murders they saw ealier, the badguys only get wounded by the guns.
Over here in American cinema, we blow our fuckin baddies away, give em the satifaction. I'm thinking Edgar Wright should just leave the action in Britain to Guy Ritchie and James Bond.
