Review of Hot Fuzz (2007) by David B — 19 Mar 2014
Hot Fuzz is everything an action-comedy should be. It achieves through parody what most films in the genre can't accomplish straight. From paying homage to Michael Bay's camera motions to kicking an old lady square in the kisser, this film holds nothing back and fires away with tons of laughs.
Though not quite (but only just) good as Shaun of the dead this still captures the spoof of cop/action films. Funny and funny, the death scenes are the highlight if not Nick Frost's pathetic cop character.
Makes you think how dumb action films really are but this just takes advantage of the genre. An excellent follow-up from the makers and Stars of Shaun of the Dead.
