Review of Hot Fuzz (2007) by Dan I — 15 Sep 2015
Whether or not this was intentional, I actually enjoy this movie because I don't think the jokes hit as hard as Shaun of the Dead. When I first saw it in theaters I feel like I cocked my eyebrow at quite a few moments because I just "didn't get it".
But after years of viewings and a growing-by-the-second appreciation for Edgar Wright I can't help but be immensely charmed by this movie because it feels a bit different and a bit more grown up than Shaun of the Dead.
I'm still more likely to pop Shaun in the DVD player if I have to pick, but Hot Fuzz makes it's way back around eventually as well.
